ERCI software products and consulting services address a company's need to both quantify its total environmental liabilities and improve strategic decision-making with regard to these liabilities. ERCI's experience shows that underestimation and overestimation of environmental liabilities is a common occurrence due to systemic biases and poor capital budgeting processes. Yet today's stringent accounting regulations stipulate that all probable and reasonably estimable environmental liabilities must be accurately reflected on balance sheets. Accounting principles such as FASB 5, GASB 49, SOP 96-1, FIN 47, and IAS 37 are part of our software training and consulting services. Consulting Services

ERCI's consultants help clients apply financial rigor in evaluating various strategic options for remediation projects. An example of our consulting services is our collaboration with our clients to develop Site Strategic Plans: business plans and decision road maps that lead to optimal solutions to complex remediation projects.

ERCI also focuses on services related to the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and their latest regulations mandating reporting of environmental liabilities by government entities. Keeping in mind the new requirements put forth by GASB 49, ERCI helps government agencies validate current and future remediation reserves, determine asset retirement obligations, ensure compliance with new reporting requirements, and improve the efficiency of environmental expenditures.

Software Products

ERCI's Defender^® suite of software applications combines our extensive remediation and financial accounting experience with tools such as Monte Carlo simulations, discounted cash flow analyses, decision analyses, and sensitivity analyses to help clients accurately price their environmental liabilities.
